Flow Switches solve Engineers retro-fit dilemma |
When an Engineer needed to replace some old and obsolete flow switches, Influx were
able to design and supply specially designed units to fit within the 150mm pipe-work
gap available, without the customer resorting to expensive and difficult
pipe modifications in a hazardous area. A fail safe magnetically operated switch housed inside a removable approved Ex d enclosure, is activated by a "float" within the meter section when the Nitrogen flow-rate falls below a pre-set level. The picture below shows the meter section and the Ex d enclosure. |
In another case, a plant manager wanted to replace a number of flow-meters, because
of crazing of the Plastic tubes used and unreliable switching. The gas contained
corrosive elements, and so an all PVC float and glass tube type meter was
manufactured to suit. A bi-stable reed switch, activated by a magnet sealed
within the float provides repeatable and dependable switching when the gas flow
falls below a preset level. The picture below shows the unit concerned. |
Whenever standard products are not suitable or are no longer available, Influx are able to design individual solutions that can fully meet customers needs. |
